This policy specifies the conditions under which ETSU will accept undergraduate credit earned from another institution and/or convert non-credit activities into academic credit at the undergraduate level.
How does a student get a Request for Review of Credit? Can a student who is online get the form without having to go to the Admissions Office?
In the Policy section 1.3., there is a reference to the Land Grant Institutions (which would be UTK and TSU) - is that supposed to be Locally Governed Institutions?
2. Student Request for Review of Credit: The student should complete the Request for Review of Credit form if a student questions credit awarded by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, or if the transfer institution is not accredited by an approved agency, or if the student requests a review of credit for Non-Traditional Credit Activities. The student sends the form to the program coordinator, listed in the undergraduate catalog. If the course is general education, the student sends the form to the department chair, listed in the undergraduate catalog.
This is confusing - do they send the form to the program coordinator of the student's program or to the program coordinator where the course is housed? If it's non-traditional credit activities, do those always match with a specific course so the student would know where the course is housed to know who to contact? It seems like a student might need assistance with this process.
3.4 Prior learning assessment section - references the student's advisor and the person who evaluates the PLA-P but also the advisor who reviews PLA credit. Are those three different people? Is that information available on the website somewhere? How would someone know who to contact?
3.5 references a Bucslip - what is that? It's not in the defined terms, and this is the first time it's mentioned.
