Microsoft has identified a critical security threat that is impacting all Windows computers and laptops. They have issued an update containing the patch to solve these issues. ITS has made the update available in Software Center for anyone who would like to update their computer manually. Any computers that have not been updated by 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 8 will automatically receive the update. Computers will restart as part of this process so please save any open documents and close any programs before leaving your workspace.
Employees with ETSU computers or laptops that are not located on campus will be required to manually install the update. Information on manually installing updates on ETSU-owned or personal equipment can be found at this link in the ITS Self-Service Portal.
