There are a couple of email scams targeting ETSU students, faculty and staff. Both are linking to web sites that ask for personal information. ETSU has blocked these sites from our network.
Never share your password with anyone:
• ETSU will never ask you to respond to an email with your username and password
• Your bank, credit card company, ISP, email provider, a rich prince who wants to give you money, - no one - should ever ask you to respond to an email with your username and password
• Your parent, sibling, girlfriend/boyfriend, roommate, don’t need your password
Don’t click on links unless you know exactly where they are going and you should have a good reason for going there.
Don’t open unexpected attachments from strangers.
Don’t download software off the internet unless you know exactly what it is and that is it legitimate. It could be spyware.
