This policy specifies provisions under what circumstances the Provost may approve a non-instructional assignment (NIA).

(1) Section 6: The UCFA classifies NIA proposals as highly recommended, recommended, or not recommended. In the case of not recommended, it would be helpful if the UCFA be required to provide written feedback to the Faculty member so that they could develop a stronger proposal for a future semester. 

(2) Section 7: I recommend linking to the policies mentioned (e.g., Outside Employment and Extra Compensation), as this helps readers find the relevant information easily. 

In general, this policy brings our NIA policy in line with other institutions by requiring a reporting of outcomes from the NIA.
