Sorry, reviewed Graduation policy after posting previous comment. Does this policy need to note in the Impact on GPA section that in unusual circumstances the Dean of the Graduate School or designee may make an exception for students to graduate with an incomplete grade noted on their transcript since that is included in the Graduation policy related to incompletes?

  • Even though they must not, what happens if a student does re-register for a course in which they currently have an I? Are they administratively dropped (who checks), does the existing I change to an F, if they resolve the I into a passing grade and do not complete/drop the current registration and earn an F, would they have to take a third time, etc.?
  • If the instructor sets an earlier date for completion but does not submit a grade, is it automatically extended up to the full year or would it convert to an F at that time?
  • If the faulty member is no longer at ETSU, can the department chair request an extension (since they can act in place of the instructor for most other places in the policy) or just the program coordinator?

I've assigned an Incomplete before but don't remember ever filling out the report form (didn't know there was one!). Should that be linked in Goldlink when someone enters an “I” grade?
